Born into a middle-class family, Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano became Queen of Spain on June 19, 2014 alongside King Felipe VI. She used to work as a journalist and news broadcaster before her marriage to Felipe. Born as Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano in Oviedo, Asturias, Spain, on September 15, 1972, she is the eldest daughter of María Paloma Rocasolano Rodríguez and Jesús José Ortiz Álvarez. She has two sisters, Érika Ortiz Rocasolano and Telma Ortiz Rocasolano. She graduated from Complutense University of Madrid in 1995, majoring in journalism. With King Felipe VI, she has two daughters, Leonor and Sofia.
