Jillian was born September 17, 1982 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania into the family with Native American ancestry. She studied at the University of Scranton but eventually earned her BA of Arts degree in Communication at the LaSalle University. Soon after the graduation, Mele received a job as an anchor at WAGM-TV.
