Ibukun Awosika is a Nigerian business magnate, motivational speaker and author, who currently serves as Chairman of First Bank of Nigeria. She was formerly the chairman of FBN Life Assurance Limited; FBN Capital Limited; and Kakawa Discount House Limited. She is the founder and chairman of the Chair Centre Group, a business group which comprise of several companies, including The Chair Centre Limited, Furniture Manufacturers Mart Limited, Sokoa Chair Centre Limited, and TCC Systems and Services Limited. She is a board member of Women in Management and Business (WIMBIZ) and Convention on Business Integrity. She also serves as a pastor at the Fountain of Life Church and Hosts a popular TV programme, Business His Way. Born Bilkisu Abiodun Motunrayo Omobolanle Adekola on December 24, 1962, in Ibadan, Nigeria, to a Nigerian father, Abdulmashood Adekola and Cameroonian mother, Hannah Aduke Adekola, Ibukun is the third of seven children. She did her schooling from St. Pauls African Church Primary School, Lagos and Methodist Girls’ High School. She graduated from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife) with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. She started her career as an Audit Trainee during her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at Akintola William & Co. She is married to Abiodun Awosika, with whom she has three children.
