Anya was born April 16, 1996 in Miami, Florida into a family of a banker and an interior designer. As a teenager, Taylor-Joy was scouted by a modeling agent and started a career as a model. That brought her also to acting. She played for example in Vampire Academy, The Witch, and Thoroughbreds. In 2019, she will be starring as Magik on The New Mutants.
