Andrea was born in New York City. She started with smaller roles during nineties and slowly gained more visibility. Navedo was part of the main cast in TV series One Life to Live and Guiding Light. She also plazed Detective Ana Cordova in Law & Order and Debbie Dominguez in How to Make It in America. In 2014, Andrea will be starring on new TV show Jane the Virgin as Xiomara.
She was raised in a Latino-American family in the Bronx, and she later remained in her home city with her husband and two children named Nico and Ava.
In Jane the Virgin, Navedo’s on-screen daughter (and the series’ title character) is played by Gina Rodriguez.
